High
School Girls Play for Midwest Championship
This
weekend teams from seven states will converge on the Moose Rugby
Grounds in Elkhart, Indiana for the Midwest High School Girls
Championship. The School Division will be a strong field of 8 with
Catholic Memorial from Wisconsin earning the top seed. Last year's
national champion, Divine Savior, (Also from Wisconsin) will provide
stiff competition. Rounding out the school bracket will be Lane Tech
(IL), Grandville (MI), Warsaw (IN), St. Joseph Academy (OH), Penn
(IN) and Hudson (OH).
In
the Club Division, last year's Midwest Champion - Hopkins out of
Minnesota will return along with Brookfield (WI), KC United (MO),
Pulaski (WI), Walnut Hills (OH) and Brunswick (OH). It is a very
even field, and it's anyone's guess as to who will come out on top.
The
Open Bracket will be strong again with Oak Creek (WI), Perrysburg
(OH) and Amherst (OH) competing for the Open Championship.
Results
will be posted on the website www.midwestyouthrugby.com.
